Friday?

I know you are not coming in tomorrow but I wanted to know what you think I can do with them. We have all of our research. What is our next step?  Is there technology you want me to teach them?  A program?  Do you want them to write something a rough draft that we can use on the website? Please let me know.

Today is the first day of the second round of projects for PS 376, and I think we have come up with some wonderful ideas and activities. The teachers have decided to take on the challenge of collaborating with one of the community resources in Brooklyn:
Students understand how important each of these places are for the community. They are concerned to learn that budget cuts are effecting these valuable community resources and want to do something to help. Over the next few months, each class will be establishing a collaborative relationship with the identified community resources. Through this collaboration, classes will:
  1. Learn more about the services provided by their identified site.
  2. Interview (in person or through video conferencing)
  3. Identify specific needs of that site.
  4. Create "kid friendly" content for the website.
  5. Develop and implement an action plan to meet one or more of the needs of the site.
  6. Communicate what they are learning and doing to the rest of the PS 376 community.
